Description
The Edelrid Ohm is one of the most innovative products to hit the sport and gym climbing scene for a number of years. Edelrid designed it to assist the breaking resistance when there is a big weight difference between lead climber and belayer. Even when the lead climber is twice the weight of the belayer, the Edelrid Ohm adds friction when the climber falls which significantly helps the lighter belayer hold the fall and stops them flying up into the first bolt. It also helps control the lowering of a heavy climber.Â
Use the Ohm at the crag or in the gym and clip it to the first bolt or piece of protection. It also means the belayer doesn’t have to tie themselves down which gives more freedom to position themselves correctly to belay the climber.Â

*Comes Supplied with semi-permanent quickdraw attachment.Â
Features:
- Belayer requires significantly less hand braking force to arrest a fall
- Lowering a heavier climber is much easier to control

- Should a lead climber fall at the first bolt, the OHM significantly reduces the risk of a possible ground fall
- Rope handling when belaying a lead climber not affected (no additional friction when paying out rope)

- Minimum weight belayer: 40 kg
